Cutters and Boards
We sell Olfa rotary cutter products. These were the originals and in our opinion still the best of the bunch. The rotary cutter and mat, introduced in the late 1980s has transformed pieced quilting. Many books and patterns are now available showing the fast piecing techniques which rely on the precision cutting possible with a rotary cutter.
The most practical combination is a 45mm cutter and a medium mat used with a 6 x 24 inch Omnigrid ruler. If you have a permanent place to cut at home, go for the large size mat. This means less movement and effort while cutting your fabric.
The sharpeners are intended to restore the edge on a dull blade. They will not remove any burrs or nicks caused by careless handling of the cutter.
